SBTs help companies across the world to cut their emissions in a way that is aligned with climate science. The validation was <a href=\"https:\/\/sciencebasedtargets.org\/target-dashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">officially announced<\/a> on 24 April.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xl-6 col-lg-12\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"featured-image\"\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tstyle=\"background-image: url('https:\/\/www.vanderlande.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/SBTi.webp);\"><\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\r\n\t\t<\/section>\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\n\n        <style>\n                                <\/style>\n\n        \n<div id=\"block-vukyo66mdku2vdrq1hx4ucdbgt9lefb6og5epl0wvtd1\" class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SBTi has approved Vanderlande\u2019s near-term targets to cut scope 1 and 2 emissions by 59%, and scope 3 by 35% \u2013 all by financial year 2034 (using FY2022 as the base year). Scope 1 and 2 emissions include those from the use of purchased electricity and fossil fuels that Vanderlande requires to power its buildings and vehicles. Scope 3 are indirect emissions generated through the company\u2019s value chain, including the purchase of goods and services as well as the energy consumption of Vanderlande\u2019s solutions during their use by customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe made a commitment to the SBTi in 2023, and since then we\u2019ve been working hard to gather data and assess where the greatest impact can be made,\u201d says David Duque Lozano, Sustainability Project Manager with Vanderlande. \u201cWe\u2019re delighted that our targets have been validated \u2013 they will help us to continue embedding sustainability across our business and create value by reducing energy costs for ourselves and our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To meet its scope 1 and 2 obligations, Vanderlande will&nbsp;increase the share of renewable energy that it generates and buys, while bringing other renewable energy sources into the mix. The company will also improve its energy efficiency by upgrading insulation, lighting and HVAC systems. In addition, it will continue to transition from fossil fuel-based heating solutions to electric alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For scope 3, Vanderlande will redesign products so that they use fewer materials, and switch to alternatives that are less carbon-intensive. Work here will include collaborating with suppliers to source more sustainable products. The company will also improve the energy efficiency of its solutions to reduce the amount of electricity they use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSustainability is a strategic priority for our company, and our ecosystem expects us to step up.
