• The permissible dimensions for checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm or 62 inches in dimension. 
• For the Infinity MileageLands ticket, the free baggage allowance is 23 kg or 50 lbs each for two baggage pieces. 
• For lap infants, the baggage allowance is similar to that of the adults traveling on a particular ticket.

EVA Air Hand Baggage Allowance 

• For Royal Laurel, Premium Laurel, or Business Class, customers can carry two carry-on baggages. The hand baggage shouldn’t exceed 7 kg or 15 lbs. 

• The permissible hand baggage allowance for Premium Economy or Economy class passengers is one piece weighing 7 kg or 15 lbs. 

• The dimensions for carry-on baggage are 23 × 36 × 56cm or  9 x 4 x 22 inches or a total of 115 cm or 45 inches. 

• Some carry-ons like sports bags or big boxes may meet the required dimensions but not accommodate in the cabin storage. Under such circumstances, the authorities request the passengers to consider checking them. 

• The boarding lounge or check-in counters have Test Units to help customers check if their baggage meets the permissible weight and dimensions. 

• For your and your fellow passengers’ safety and comfort, we reserve the right to decide whether a piece of baggage can be carried on or checked. 

• You must not place carry-on bags on your lap during take-off and landing.

• The under-seat carry-on baggage should be kept in a manner that does not prevent passengers from moving freely in the aisle. 

• Passengers of all classes are entitled to carry a personal item in addition to hand baggage. The permissible dimensions are 40x30x10 cm or 16x12x4 inches or a linear dimension of 80 cm or 32 inches. Wheels, side pockets, and handles are included in this dimension. 

If the personal item exceeds the permissible dimension, it will count toward your hand baggage allowance. You may have to check the personal item or the carry-on bag. 

Personal items may include a laptop, a purse, a briefcase, a camera case, rain gear, and duty-free merchandise (in limited amounts). Laptops may be carried in a thin satchel-styled bag. However, a big laptop bag will be counted as hand baggage. 

• You can put small bags on your waist or shoulders after you have fastened the seat belt. 

• If you carry portable electronic devices without medical purposes, you must adhere to some restrictions. You must comply with the carry-on baggage weight and dimensions. You cannot carry electronic devices emitting incense or vapor. 

Regarding special items, here are some rules to consider:

• Infants can have a fully collapsible stroller, a carry basket, or a car seat. You can store a small collapsible stroller in the overhead bin if there is sufficient space. You must remove any accessories to prevent them from getting misplaced. 

• You may carry feeding bottles, food, and diapers for your infant. 5 kg. 

• Passengers with disabilities can carry a walking stick, prosthetic device, crutches, and canes. Manual collapsible wheelchairs and small assistive devices can go as carry-ons provided government regulations are followed. As per the European Union legislation, passengers traveling to or from Europe can carry mobility equipment (two pieces) for no additional cost. 

• You can carry musical instruments, provided they do not block the aisle oir make communication difficult for other passengers. 

• You must safely keep valuable items like jewelry, cash, portable electronic devices, and cell phones to avoid loss or damage. 

What are the Extra Baggage Fees for Eva Air?

If you carry more checked baggage than you are supposed to, you will be charged extra baggage fees. The excess baggage fees include Taiwan and five zones (1-5) and are calculated per piece based on each zone. You must pay in US or Canadian dollars or a local equivalent.

• For Royal Laurel, Premium Laurel, or Business class, baggage shouldn’t exceed 32 kg or 70 lbs in weigth.

• For Economy and Premium class, the weight shouldn’t be more than 23 kg or 50 lbs. 

• The linear dimension for any cabin class shouldn’t exceed 158 cm or 62 inches.

For overweight baggage: 

1. If the baggage is more than 23 kg or 50 lbs but is less than 32 kg or 70 lbs, 0,5 pieces extra baggage fees will be charged.
2. If the baggage is more than 32 kg or 70 lbs but less than equal to 45 kg or 100 lbs, fees are charged for three pieces of extra baggage. is charged.
3. If your baggage weighs above 45 kg or 110 lbs, the baggage cannot go as checked baggage and must be included in the cargo. 

For oversized baggage: 

1. For baggage exceeding 158 cm or 62 inches but less than equal to 203 cm or 80 inches, charge for a single excess baggage is charged.
2. If the dimensions are less than 292 cm or 115 inches, charges for two extra baggage pieces are incurred. 
3. The authorities don’t permit baggage with dimensions over 292 cm or 115 inches as checked baggage. They will go as cargo. 

What to Do for Damaged or Missing Baggage?

Inform the airport authorities immediately if you are still waiting to receive your baggage upon landing. They will use the global baggage tracing system to trace your baggage as soon as possible and deliver it as quickly as possible. You can check your baggage status online if you don’t get your baggage in five days. The authorities will decide on compensation if needed. 

Regarding damaged baggage, checking your luggage while taking it from the baggage carousel is essential. If you notice any damage, contact the baggage claim area. If you notice any damage after leaving the airport, contact the airport authorities with supporting evidence. The authorities don’t consider minor cuts, dents, scratches, or dirt as part of the damage. The authorities will also not accept claims where damage has been caused due to overpacking defective baggage material. 

Regarding your hand luggage, EVA Air isn’t responsible for any loss or damage to your check-in baggage unless it has happened because of the official’s negligence. EVA recommends against including medicine, negotiable papers, jewelry, keys, etc, in your checked baggage. When you do not claim your checked baggage for more than 30 days, it’s up to EVA Air to decide what to do with it. 

The (EVA Air) baggage office or local airport authorities will hold unclaimed cabin baggage for 20 days. 

EVA Air Pet Policy

EVA Air allows cats, rabbits, and dogs in the cargo as checked baggage. Except for service dogs assisting disabled passengers, no pets are permitted in the cabin. You must inform the reservation staff about 48 hours before departure to travel with pets. You must also provide valid vaccination and health certificates while traveling with pets. 

If you carry pets as part of your checked baggage, arrive at least two hours before departure. At London Heathrow Airport, you must arrive at least 2.;5 hours before your departure. The following dangerous dogs aren’t permitted:

The pet container should be rigid plastic and have a single door to prevent the animal from escaping. Make sure that you have removed the pet cage’s wheels. Keep a sufficient supply of food and water for your pet’s convenience.
